RIMINI AND...

Rimini and...

not only sea

Rimini is not only sea in fact, only a few km. away you can find:

Rimini is not just a beach holiday.

It is an extraordinary opportunity to learn more about our city and the surrounding area rich in monuments and museums that testify to the history, art and secular culture of the peoples who lived it; from the Villanovan and Etruscan to the Roman period Moderna, from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, from the nineteenth century to the modern era. Illustrious men and others less known, very often forgotten, have made the history of our territory.

RIMINI with the Arch of Augustus, the Tiberius Bridge, the Domus of the Surgeon, the Roman Amphitheater, Piazza Cavour with the Arengo Palace, Palazzo Garampi, Teatro Galli, Old Fish Market, Pigna Fountain; the Malatesta Temple, unfinished work of the Renaissance by Leon Battista Alberti, furnished inside by artists such as Agostino di Duccio, Matteo de’ Pasti, Piero della Francesca.
The pictorial art of Giotto and his influence in the Painting of the 300 Rimini.
Many places still to visit from the city churches to the Romanesque churches, squares, gardens, villages and other places so dear to our illustrious Federico Fellini.

Three interesting tourist routes of Rimini: Roman route, medieval and modern route, are visible on the site Moderna http://www.comune.rimini.it/servizi/citta/monumenti/

Stories and legends of the Roman Empire of Julius Caesar; dei Malatesta with Paolo and Francesca in the Castle of Gradara and Azzurrina in the castle of Montebello;
of San Leo for the imprisonment and history of Giuseppe Balsamo called Count of Cagliostro.

Holiday in Rimini intended as an opportunity to visit, a few kilometers away, some famous cities of art such as Urbino, Ravenna and ancient medieval villages in the hinterland. They are villages perched on the hills of Valmarecchia and Valconca, where numerous events and cultural initiatives enrich, testify and keep alive the history, art and customs of the territory. The quality of agricultural production has always characterized the food and wine of the place.

No less interesting is the landscape appearance of the city of Rimini and its hinterland. Our hills, which overlook the plain rich in modern and lush crops, give us wonderful views that extend to the sea Moderna.
The nature reserve of the village of Onferno, located in the upper Valconca, is particularly appealing to tourists for its karst caves; suggestive place that legend tells, as the vegetation and the cave of the ancient village “castrum Inferni” inspired the supreme poet Dante Alligieri for the inferno of the Divine Comedy.
